Cherry Blossom Events Planned in Alexandria for 2022

ALEXANDRIA, VA – With cherry blossom season approaching, various events and experiences will be taking place in and around Alexandria.

There are many ways to enjoy the scenic blooms in 2022. Festivities include cherry blossom-themed food and drink, tours, artwork, special events and more.

Many experiences will coincide with the National Cherry Blossom Festival from March 20 to April 17. The 2022 Festival marks the 110th anniversary of the Tokyo Mayor’s gift of trees to Washington, D.C.

City Cruises anchored by Hornblower offers a direct 25-minute water taxi from Old Town to The Wharf development in DC From The Wharf dock, it’s a 10-minute walk to the cherry blossoms of the Tidal Basin. The flower views from a Pedego are fantastic and you don’t have to fight traffic or find a place to park downtown. Visits will take place as long as there are flowers on the cherry blossom trees. Participating artists will display their most colorful spring and cherry blossom-inspired works in their studios from Saturday April 2 through Sunday May 1.
