After the highly acclaimed release of hate clubpunk-rock band based in Eora/Sydney Clay J Gladstone just revealed live dates and their latest energetic cut Where do you want me?produced by award-winning engineer ARIA Antoine Hagop (Silverchair, Missy Higgins, Birds of Tokyo).
With its length and vivacity which make it a worthy sequel to its predecessor, Where do you want me? continues the band’s infectious trend of multicolored, upbeat punk music with sinister underlying implications. Caffeinated with abrasive guitars and pounding drums, the single comes across as unapologetically captivating.
Singer Tim Wisbey talk about the meaning behind Where do you want me?: “The song is about enduring a toxic relationship and not having the courage to call it quits. Lyrically, it’s sarcastic and passive-aggressive. Say what you really feel though under your breath. We really wanted raw production with this one, fuck off the auto-tuning (not that we’re against it) and spit some reality into an overproduced world. We just wanted it to be rock swag with a touch of excitement.
To celebrate the release, Clay J Gladstone will embark on his first East Coast headlining tour, appearing at Naarm/Melbourne, Meanjin/Brisbane, and an already sold-out hometown show in Eora/Sydney (180 tickets In a week). The group made regular appearances at AM/PM Emo Night, and shared the stage alongside Ocean Sleeper, Hellions and Deadlights.
