Fukushima city ready to lift evacuation order but only 10% of residents want to return

While the government has decided to lift the evacuation order for part of the city of Futaba in Fukushima prefecture, only around 10% of residents evacuated after the 2011 nuclear accident want to return.

On Tuesday, the central government officially decided to drop the order on August 30 for about 5.55 square kilometers around Futaba Station in Futaba, which is about 10% of the city that co-hosts Tokyo’s No. 1 Fukushima.
