Everyone has their favorite part of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons: the birdsong of spring, the showers of summer, the celebrations of autumn, or the icy chill of winter.

Three centuries after their composition, they are fresher and more melodious than ever – and nothing beats the sensation of hearing these four brilliant concertos performed in concert.

Rachel Podger – described by The Times as “the unsurpassed British glory of the Baroque violin” – is an expert in Baroque music, as well as a dazzling violinist.

She takes center stage in this concert and shares three other baroque gems from Telemann and Corelli: expect wit, drama and sheer sonic splendour.

She was the first woman to receive the prestigious Royal Academy of Music/Kohn Foundation Bach Prize in October 2015, Gramophone Artist of the Year 2018 and Ambassador of REMA’s Early Music Day 2020.

A creative programmer, Rachel is the founder and artistic director of the Brecon Baroque Festival and its Brecon Baroque ensemble.

Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orchestra of Sage Gateshead, is the UK’s only full-time chamber orchestra.

Founded in 1958, RNS has built a worldwide reputation for the Northeast thanks to the quality of its musical creation and the immediacy of the links that the musicians establish with the public.

The orchestra regularly carries the region’s flag at major festivals, including the BBC Proms, and performs frequently in European venues, including La Folle Journée in Nantes.

In recent seasons they have toured Vienna, Budapest, Istanbul and Tokyo.
