Listers Toyota’s sponsorship – which follows the Japanese automaker’s support of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo last year – will help the yacht club “provide sport and recreation to a wider range of suitable athletes”.

Club chairman Paul Stanton said: “Being associated with caring, local and successful businesses in the region is very important to the club as we share their commitment to the prosperity and wellbeing of the region. Listers Toyota’s sponsorship of the Adaptive Section for the year is greatly appreciated and helps us provide sport and recreation to a wider range of Adaptive athletes.

Adaptive Head Coach Mark Dewdney added: “We first contacted Listers Toyota Stratford through global sponsorship of Toyota’s recent Paralympic Games and then during the celebration of the adaptive section after winning the Para Sport Club of the Year.

“The Listers Toyota Stratford sponsorship has gone towards equipping the adaptive section and the whole club, funding much-needed recent equipment, such as a stable two-person (double) multi-purpose boat; fixed seats allowing people who are paraplegic or have a severe impairment of the lower limbs to row; narrow riggers that allow people with lower limb impairments to propel the boat more efficiently; pair of riggers that allow those with one side and/or dexterity issues to row with a single oar if they cannot use two; a bucket seat that benefits people with cerebral palsy and gripping aids to help those who lack dexterity.

Listers Toyota is the official Toyota dealership in Stratford and offers a wide range of new and used vehicles as well as small business and fleet services. Based in the city center just off Birmingham Road, Listers Toyota also offers maintenance and parts services.

Listers Group Limited is also headquartered at Stratford Business and Technology Park. Founded in 1979 when the company opened its first business in Coventry, the focus has always been on the customer.

More than 40 years later, this focus has helped the business grow to over 50 dealerships and service centers across England, becoming one of the largest family-owned motor businesses in the UK, representing 18 of the the most recognized and prestigious brands.
